Starface U

Applications for Fall 2020 closed on August 26. Please check back in the Spring for more!

    Who We Are:

Starface cares for acne-prone skin with optimism, joy, and the best ingredients on this planet.

    Job Description:

When you join Starface U, you’ll join a national network of high-school aged individuals who represent Starface to their friends and represent their friends to us.

From informing product decisions by providing key insights based on market research to being Starface’s eyes and ears on the ground, your work will make sure we’re designing and delivering our product with the right potential customer in mind - you. You’ll learn how to create content that speaks to our audience, get constructive feedback, and see your work on our social channels.

Along the way, you’ll get regular coaching and professional development to make sure you succeed in this role and beyond. You’ll also have the autonomy to explore and propose new ideas, and the guidance to develop and implement them. You’ll also get paid, and we’ll help you navigate the essentials of financial literacy - bank accounts, taxes, all the good stuff.

    Who You Are:

You are a current high school junior or senior. Sophomores who feel they would be a good fit will be considered.

You are passionate about your community—activist organizing group, Animal Crossing, Model UN, skate club—your world.

You are thoughtful, curious, and a critical thinker. You're engaged on social media (tiktok, twitch, ig) and have an eye for smart, impactful content.

You can see one or two (or three...) steps ahead to the future.

You have held a leadership position in a club, a job, your home.

You’re not afraid to ask curious or challenging questions that encourage conversation.

You are a natural communicator: you like talking to people and people like talking to you, whether it’s in person, over text, through TikTok...

You are organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and deadlines motivate you.

You are empathetic, confident, curious, creative, patient, and eager to learn.

You have a “no task is too small” attitude.

You are passionate about the skincare industry and want to find your place in it (not required, but preferred).

    Responsibilities:

Be the voice of Starface IRL: talk to friends, classmates, and everyone in between about our brand, mission, and product across all of our communication channels.

Participate in regular workshops, meetings, and Slack channel conversations - don’t worry, we schedule these outside of school hours.

Proactively build relationships with your community of fellow Starface U members.

Conduct surveys among classmates and fellow high school-age individuals to inform product and marketing decisions.

Propose ideas for Starface’s social channels and work through feedback to execute them.

Have thought-provoking conversations with fellow StarfaceU members; from the skincare industry, to the latest trends on Tik Tok.

Help define the work culture of Starface. You’re joining one of our first ever classes at Starface U. The vibe depends on you.

Be open and ready to take on more. We are an early stage startup with ever-changing demands.
